Sugarloaf is the crown jewel of winter granite climbing in the Tahoe area. Splitter cracks, devious slabs, and dimpled knobs make up the climbing canvas at Sugarloaf and its surrounding crags.
Sugarloaf is located at 5,000ft above the small town of Kyburz on Highway 50 and faces south, east, and west. Its elevation and aspect make it possible to climb year-round but we prefer other locations in mid-summer and save the Loaf for cooler temps.
